- Sama / Vrat ke chawal / Moraiya - 1 cup( washed and soaked for 2 hrs)
- Sabudana /sago - 1/4 cup (washed and soaked for hrs)
- Ginger - 1 tbsp, grated
- Green chilies - 1 chopped + for topping
- Tomato - 1, medium, chopped
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp + for topping (chopped)
- Crushed black pepper - 1 tbsp
- Sendha salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
- Wash and soak the sama rice and sabudana sepererately for 2 hrs.
- In a blender, add sama rice with water and sabudana without water (as shown in the video) to a fine paste.
- Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl. Add sendha salt, grated ginger, green chilies and coriander leaves. Mix it well.
- Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle), pour a ladleful of batter on the tawa and spread it little with the help of a spoon.
- Add the toppings ( tomatoes, green chilies, crushed black pepper and coriander leaves)
- Smear a little oil along the sides. Let it cook for a minute on one side on a medium flame and flip it over and cook it on other side as well, cook till both the sides turn golden in color.
- Make more uttapams with rest of the batter and serve hot with green chutney.
How to make Vrat Wala Uttapam step by step photo:
