You will love this snack that is attractively crunchy outside and comfortingly soft inside. These fingers make a great snack when your kids get back from school or even as finger food in a party! Ingredients
- Semolina/Sooji - 1/2 cup
- Potato - 4, medium sized, boiled
- Green chilies - 2, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Chili flakes - 1/2 Tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil to deep fry + 1 Tsp
Instructions
- Take the boiled potatoes and grate them in a bowl and keep it aside.
- Boil 1/2 cup water in a deep vessel. Add 1 tsp of oil. Switch off the flame and add semolina. Let it sit for 2 minutes.
- Now add the puffed semolina in a deep bowl, gently knead it for a minute to make it smooth.
- Add grated potatoes and rest of the ingredients. Mix it well to form a soft and smooth dough.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadhai.
- Grease you hands with oil and take a small ball sized dough. Make a cylindrical shape to a finger length.
- Deep fry the fingers in hot oil till they are golden brown from all the sides.
- Drain on an absorbent paper. Serve them immediately with tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice.
Notes
- You can bake these fingers as well at 180 degree C (360 degree F) for 20 minutes.
- You can add 2 Tbsp of rice flour, if your dough is too sticky.
