Chicken 65 is a popular non-veg starter, in the southern part of India. It's fiery, tangy and so delicious. Serve this starter immediately after preparing.

Ingredients
- Chicken breasts - 4 (cut into strips)
- Ginger paste - 1 Tsp
- Garlic paste - 1 Tsp
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder - 1 Tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 Tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 1/2 Tsp
- Oil for deep frying + 1 Tbsp for tempering
- All purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- Corn flour - 1 Tbsp
- Egg - 1
- Red chilies - 4 dry
- Red chili sauce - 1 Tbsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 Tsp
- Kashmiri lal mirch - 1 Tsp
- Curry leaves - 6-7
- Cashew nuts - 5-6, broken into small pieces
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken strips with ginger garlic paste, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, egg, flour and corn flour.
- Put the chicken in fridge for 2 hrs or more ( if you have time)
- Deep fry the chicken on a low flame until chicken is fully cooked and crispy.
- Take it out on an absorbent paper to drain off the excess oil.
- Now heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadhai. Add mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Add curry leaves, Kashmiri lal mirch, dry red chilies, red chili sauce, cashew nuts and mix well.
- Toss the fried chicken in the sauce for 30 seconds or until the sauce has coated on all the chicken pieces and the chicken 65 is ready to serve hot with onion rings and lemon wedges.
Notes
- Make sure you fry the chicken on a low flame else chicken will not cook properly.
